Sports Medicine Surgery

Dr. Johnston is a dual fellowship-trained orthopaedic sports medicine and shoulder surgeon, and specializes in the treatment of sports-related musculoskeletal injuries of the upper and lower extremities.

He is passionate about empowering his patients to stay active through all ages and at all athletic levels- from weekend warrior to elite professional. Using cutting edge biologic and minimally-invasive techniques he is dedicated to getting his patients back to the health they deserve through compassionate and individualized care plans. With a background in mechanical engineering, his academic interests and research projects include stem cells, biomechanics, surgical technique innovation, and improving patient outcomes. He is an invited lecturer on these topics both nationally and internationally.
